Abram Games exhibition

Halifax Dean Clough: Crossley Gallery – 19th June to 26th September 2010

Born of Latvian parents in Whitechapel and effectively self-taught, Abram Games (1914-1996) was one of Britain’s most distinctive graphic artist. From the ATSrecruitment poster that is a WW2 icon, to imagery for the Festival of Britain – as well as in a host of definitive promotions for the likes of Guinness, Shell and… London Transport – Games branded the public memory.

This stunning exhibition was originally organised by The Design Museum and has been generously curated for Dean Clough by Naomi Games.

It includes some 70 posters, sketches, original works, product designs and DVD films.
