time today to sift and sort the delicious page

What is Delicious?

“Delicious is a social bookmarking service that allows users to tag, save, manage and share web pages from a centralized source. With emphasis on the power of the community, Delicious greatly improves how people discover, remember and share on the Internet.

Things you can do with Delicious

Bookmark any site on the Internet, and get to it from anywhere

Instead of having different bookmarks on every computer, Delicious makes it easy to have a single set of bookmarks kept in sync between all of your computers. Even if you’re not on a computer you own, you can still get to your bookmarks on the Delicious website.

Share your bookmarks, and get bookmarks in return

If your friends use Delicious, you can send them interesting bookmarks that they can check out the next time they log in. Of course, they can do the same for you. As you explore the site and find interesting users, you can use our Subscriptions and Network features to keep track of the Delicious tags and users you find most interesting.

Discover the most useful and interesting bookmarks on the web

See what’s hot with Delicious users by checking out our popular tags. By looking at popular bookmarks for a tag, you’ll be able to discover the most interesting bookmarks on the topics you’re most interested in. Browse bookmarks on just about anything from the best programming tips to the most popular travel sites, all in an easy to read format.”

Burberry launches social networking site

From Draper online – 9 November 2009 | By Amy Shields

“Burberry has launched its social networking site, celebrating the British heritage brand’s iconic trench coat.

Burberry will work with some of the world’s leading photographers to catalogue trench coat wearers’ love of the outerwear item and their personal stories relating to their Burberry trench.

Visitors to the site will be invited to submit their own portraits depicting themselves in their trench.

For the site’s launch, Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey commissioned a collection of photographs of trench wearers taken by photographer Scott Schuman of The Sartorialist.”

Afterall, a journal of art, context and enquiry.  Afterall offers in-depth analysis of artists’ work, along with essays that broaden the context in which to understand it.

“Afterall is a research and publishing organisation based in London. Founded in 1998 by Charles Esche and Mark Lewis at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, University of the Arts London, Afterall focuses on contemporary art and its relation to a wider artistic, theoretical and social context.

In 1999 Afterall, a journal of art, context and enquiry, was launched. Afterall offers in-depth analysis of artists’ work, along with essays that broaden the context in which to understand it. This year the journal celebrates its 10th anniversary and as part of our celebration we have made the back catalogue of Afterall freely available to all. The journal was co-published with California Institute of the Arts from 2002 to 2009 and is currently published in association with MuHKA, Antwerp and UNIA arte y pensamiento, Seville.

In April 2006 we introduced Afterall Books and launched two new strands of publications to complement the journal: One Work and a series of Afterall readers. One Work is a library of small books, each title focusing on one important work of contemporary art through a single text. Afterall readers look at significant areas of modern and contemporary art practice through the commissioning and reprinting of a collection of key texts, artists’ statements and manifestos. A new series, titled Exhibition Histories, will be launched in 2010 in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna and the Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven.

Afterall Online continues the lines of enquiry explored through the journal and the books. It features specially commissioned and regularly updated material including interviews with artists about their art practice, photo-essays and texts on artist’s projects, books and events.

Afterall also organises events including screenings, workshops, seminars and conferences in relation to its different research and publication projects, in London and elsewhere. Among these, we present a series of seminars with The Showroom.”

“Spezify is a search tool presenting results from a large number of websites in different visual ways.

We take web search further, away from endless lists of blue text links and towards a more intuitive experience.
We want you to get a good overview of a subject,
find useful information and be inspired with Spezify.

We mix all media types and make no difference
between blogs, videos, microblogs and images.
Everything communicates and helps building the bigger picture.

We collect websites and are aiming to use as many relevant, free and open API:s as possible to generate extensive and diverse search results.”
