WIDN blog: Colour expert sets the tone in South Africa

Yet more colour is being brought to the rainbow nation as Lee Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute and director of the Eiseman Center for Color Information and Training flies to South Africa for a three city tour.

Eiseman’s first presentation is at Decorex Joburg, before she heads on to Durban and Cape Town.

Eiseman has written seven books that outline the reasonable idea that as so much we experience is filtered through our vision, colour can elicit our strongest and most emotional responses.

According to Decorex’s PR, Eiseman “knows so much about the history of colour, the psychology of colour and the application of colour that she can make colour interesting to a convent of nuns who only wear black.” Nope, us neither.

But despite this dubious write-up, Eiseman is arguably the foremost international authority on colour trends. In fact, Fortune Magazine has named her as one of the top 10 decision makers for her work in colour.
