1940’s | Trends | Drapers

Wartime-inspired silhouettes were rife this season, and provided an interesting contrast to the more futuristic details we saw. The fit and flare look was updated through houndstooth fabrics and extra waspish waists at Alexander McQueen and with skinny belts and bright gathered fabrics at Lanvin. Hermes opted for buttery leather on double breasted jackets with raglan sleeves and sexy pencil skirts and elsewhere long coats came printed and edged in fur.
